Wholesale art supplies?

Is there anywhere that will sell their art supplies to individual artists for wholesale?

I have framers that sell to me wholesale,(with my tax number of course) but can't find art supplies?

It is very difficult to buy good art supplies wholesale, because specifically they don't want working artists doing that. The best prices you can get are usually with DickBlick and Jerry's Artarama. Darice does crafty-type stuff and you can get wholesale with them, and there's a school supplier or two who will do wholesale for orders less than $500, but the supplies are mostly school-quality, and the prices very similar to Dick Blick.

However, if you have about $10,000 to spend per order (sometimes $25K initially), and I'd hate to erroneously assume you don't, plus store hours and a physical location, Prismacolor, Fredrix, Canson and maybe some others would be happy to open an account for you.

It's a racket, I tell ya!

They are great suppliers. I used them exclusively when I was painting. They may not have the cheapest to the nickel prices, but their service is excellent and Claude, the owner is very knowledgeable. A great resource for the seious proffessional who demands quality painting supplies.

When you were painting? I hope this does not mean you no longer paint?

I am painting, but with pastels. I have really fallen in love with them, and notwithstanding the very possible horror of them fading, will continue to do so for a while.

I have some painting ideas but as yet have not had time to do them.

Good to hear from you, I hope you are still painting!

Sincerely,

Another low priced supplier

Another low priced supplier is Dixie Art Supply online. They have free shipping on orders of $45 or more. I believe the address is dixieart.com, or dixieartsupply.com. A Google will turn them up.

Thanks for the Itallian online site, Marvin.
