Finished 'Keri'
This is the finished result from the works in progress forum. The final size is 20x27. I thought long about how to handle the sweater because I did'nt want to do all the details in it and take away from the rest of it. But I also did'nt want to make it plain and ignore the texture. What I did with it was shade in the whole area, erase some lighter areas, add some darks and do it over again until I was comfortable with it. Thanks for looking.

Hi Jimmie,
I love the pose and how you've handled the shirt and the hands peeking out of the sweater. This is a very sensual portrait. How did you like working big?

Jimmie,
Another great drawing! I think you were successful in maintaining the focal point around the head by simply keeping the dark values around the eyes, where the focal point should be. The sweater is nicely done.
I think one quality you have, in addition to great technique, is your ability to create solid compositions: the pose, the model and lighting have become a trademark of yours. Also, you seem to have a great work ethic which is admirable.
Keep em' coming!

Jimmie, this piece is gorgeous. Like Jean said, a very sensual portrait. I especially love the way you've handled the clothing. As always, beautiful.

Jimmie,
I haven't been able to post to the forum since the software upgrade, but I'm going to try it again. Hope this works.
Another beauty! This is a really refined drawing. The clothing looks so soft and delicate in the full view, almost like silverpoint. Then as Mike says, just the right shading in the focal areas.

Gorgeous Jimmy. I especially love the hands and sweater - great pose.
All of your drawings have a sensuality to them. I suspect you really appreciate females and this shows.

It took a while to get used to especially in the beginning trying to get the proportions down. I was constantly stepping back to get a better view. I'm used to working getting a good visual by taking a step or two back, not a few feet as this one did. I'm sure I'll do more around this size, dependes on the subject.
A few have commented on the hands and sweater so I'm including some close ups. You may be able to tell how pudgy the skin is below the fingernails. This is from biting her nails and skin, and having new skin grow thick in that area.
She came by today to pick up her print, and looked very happy before I even showed it to her. She admitted she could'nt wait to get to the shop, so she peeked online on my site, and was thrilled. I got such a good feeling at how happy she was. It's funny how the models do me the favor by posing, but feel they need to thank me after they get the pictures, like I'm the one doing them a favor.

Hi Jimmie,
Glad you liked the big stuff, I'd like to see this up close and personal. I also feel that you have a way with women, you picked up on her fragility. I can see you in the future as one of the premier graphite portrait artists of women. You draw them at their "gut level".
