The most gratifying aspect of being an artist is producing a piece that will leave a lasting impression for generations to come.
Congragulations on doing just that!

Congrats Kim!!
It is so much fun to see this article, to know that it will hang in a public place where it should be for all to enjoy. Personally, I enjoyed watching the progress of the work, here on portraitartist.com. It was an education for me and now very exciting to see your success with it.
You must be VERY proud and pleased!!

Thank you everyone
It was a suprise to me that it made the front page and in color yet. One good thing I discovered is that in these small towns they are very proud of their own. There was no way that painting was going to leave Uvalde - there were too many people who wanted to buy it and hang it publicly.
And I've been selling prints for the first time, and by golly that is a wonder. The work is done, the painting is sold - yet I am still making money. Who knew?
This article was about the woman who bought it and why, but months ago they did an article about me and the painting when I was still working on it. At least now I know that the 50,000 readers in the town and surrounding area know where I am.
Here is a detail, since that photo is not that clear.
