question Lightest lights in portraits

Michele, could you tell me what combination you tend to use in the lightest lights in your portraits? I am aware they vary some but within your portrait of Gary Ernst or Lindsay you have the most wonderful light and it appears mine turn pasty much of the time. I know to lighten with color not white. That I try to do. That glow is difficult.

Or, anyone out there. I am sure this has probably been covered. I hope I am not regressing.

Thanks all.
