Updating my portfolio, need advice

Hi everyone,

I recently decided to update my portfolio to include more three quarter poses, and poses with pets or favorite toys, etc.

Most of my work has been head and shoulders but lately, I have been getting more requests for more detailed portraits. Please share your advice about this area. I also plan on posting a three quarter painting in the oil section.

Thanks.

Check out some of the more well known and/or higher-priced artists on this website and study which portraits they choose to include on their site.

There is a wealth of information to be gleaned that way, not just on what type of portraits they show, but how they compose their images, how they pose their subjects, clothing, lighting, etc.

Thanks Michele,

Originally I had sent that post to the pastel critique section along with an example of a three quarter view I had done to have critiqued.

Unfortunately, my complete post did not go through and it was sent to this section. I'll have to figure out how to send an image without it being too large! I agree that there are some terrific ideas for poses etc., on this website. And I'll be trying to incorporate more of them in my work.

Thanks for your input.
