Other new work

Here's some other new thing I've been doing
'
"nancy" is 24 x 32. The client came in with a photo, but I re-photgraphed the subject and put her back in the setting.

Mother & daughter is a gift for the daughter from the dad. They lost the mother to cancer a couple years ago. The client allowed me to pick from their extensive photo album the image to start with, and gave me alot of artistic elbow room. The size is 24 x 30

It seems to me you've been full time busy. Great Linda.

Hi again, Linda! It's a flood of work!

The mother and daughter has such tenderness in it. I can imagine that this will be treasured by the daughter for the rest of her life.

The one of Nancy is, I think, my favorite. I usually have trouble with toothy smiles, but there is something so right about this one. Her gaze is direct and pleasant, and you get the feeling this is really her. The colors of the rocks, water and trees are naturalistic, and there is a simplicity and an abstractness about the diagonals of her figure against the horizontal line of shore that totally works.

Thanks Alexandra & Claudemir.( I don't know why the colors are different in this versin than in real life, but it looks like she has mustard on her face when I look at it here.) You are right Alexadra on your call of Nancy's personality. She a straightforward, kind, natural and feminine with out pretentiousness, so I'm glad that the painting communicates that.

:-)
