Jordan
I am trying to do at least one from life a week.
Open studio on Saturday and he asked for a photo print of it. I like that. A good painting in a models book makes ME important to.

Debra, this is really so nicely done, with terrific brush work that suits the look of your craggy model . I love the greys in the face, too!

Very nice Debra!
I love the strong sense of form and texture. Letting the gray ground peek through is very effective.

Debra,
I like this so much! Such a strong face and painted with assurance. Every time I see you have posted something from a live model I know it's going to be good.

Thank you all. And Chris Especially. (I posted it initially in the wrong forum.)
I just enjoy a critique from Linda Brandon and Chris Saper because we swim in the same model pool.
The experience on Saturday was indeed intense. I was right behind Clayton Beck. For a "step back and place" instructor, I was interested in why he sat at a horse in the front row. Unfortunately there was an easel between me and his progress but I was enjoying the personal "competition". I have a mentor that says that is a big problem in open studio. One tends to vie for the best likeness, not always the best picture. I do agree. I sort of like the challenge.
It was a huge joy to have an instructor in the studio. It is good for the school, as a lure to the commoners ("MAYBE I can see the teacher side by side") and as an impetus to a higher quality of work.
