Francois Rude sculpture

This is my latest project. I took a picture of Rude's first draft sculpture of Athena at the Gare d'Orsay in Paris. The final sculpture is on the Arc de Triomphe, which you can see if you go to this link: http://www.bc.edu/bc_org/avp/cas/fna...ure/rude04.jpg
I wanted to do a painting rendition of this piece, and so far, this is what I have done. I think it is interesting.

This is going to be a painting? It will be great to see the finished piece! I have really loved seeing your drawings, and especially love the drawing you did of your sister! What a great piece filled with such character.

Yes, this is an oil painting of the sculpture, and it may be a keeper, too. My hubby gets mad at me when I give stuff away...so he has staked claim on it! LOL! I am glad you liked my drawing of my sister, too! She looks silly with those cockeyed pigtails! (She hates that pic! As most of us hate our school photos from elementary school!)
