After Vigee-Le Brun

I just finished this painting less than a month ago and would like some feedback.

Thank You

Beautiful job. What method and medium did you use?

Superb! The lace is beautiful.

I like the Old Masters better than most modern paintings even if they're realistic. I think it's the clothing.

I did try to implement advice that Vigee-Le Brun gave to her niece, (http://www.batguano.com/Vigeeadvice.html) along with closely studying several paintings that she had done of Marie Antoinette.

When I began painting, I started out with paint thinner to block in areas so that they would dry faster. Later I used just a blending and glazing medium from Winsor & Newton.

Gorgeous!

Angela,

From which castle wall didst thou wrest this masterpiece? Superb execution.
