The Girl and the Schnauzer

Cindy Procious had some wonderful drawings over tea stained paper a few months ago and I have had it in my mind to see what I could do myself with the technique. An opportunity came up this week to do a demonstration for an ongoing holiday show and I took some hot pressed 200# or so Fabriano watercolor paper and rendered with charcoal pencil and pastel pencil for brown. I over painted some of the white with liquid watercolor paper, as I grabbed a prisma color by mistake for my white charcoal at first.
At any rate, I used the splashy look of the tea to reinforce the well known sensation of wet dog whiskers, common to Schnauzer owners!

Debra,

your works are always so "alive". I love seeing what you come up with, because there's always variety. This one is great!

However, I'm glad I don't know what wet dog whiskers feel like. I'll leave that up to the Schnauzer owners.
