White Dress

Finished this recently.

I wanted to keep the shimmery feel of the "enchanted forest." The play of light in the scene was interesting, and I would have been angry with myself if I hadn't taken it on. Believe it or not, I edited some things out, and the environment is more loosely painted than this small reproduction shows.

The family saw it this weekend and they're pleased.

(Realized today that the saturation was off, so I reposted. It's fairly accurate now.)

Stunning portrait Tom!
I really like the composition on this one. The angle of the greenery covered wall she is sitting on creates a pleasant movement.
The subtlety of the tones are painted very nicely. I can see why it was so well received. Award winner!

VERY well done. I do like the overall composition and the play of light. And I'm proud of you for "taking it on" instead of being mad at yourself for not Again, good job on a wonderful portrait!

Wow Tom -- Simply stunning! The shimmering quality of light is deftly done -- and those rust tones in the foliage to the right -- compositionally elegant. Wonderful work capturing how young she is too -- Congratulations!

Interesting and FABULOUS. Tom, just came across this. WOW! It's beautiful, and certainly up to your usual high standards. The play of light on all the greenery is exceptional! Well done, Tom.
