Tutoring?

For us "new" artists, sometimes being able to call upon a teacher makes the difference in continuing or just throwing in the towel.
Is there some way for me to post a "tutor wanted" for my area?

Or have other painters point me toward classes and workshops they know about in my area? I live in Orange County, California and don't have time for a full time art school, but do want to improve my skills.

Thanks,
Jen

Check out the full time art schools in your area and ask where you can post a notice to say that you're looking for a tutor or ask the school if they offer part time classes. Also call the nearest art museum. Many of these offer classes.

You can also pick up a copy of some of the art magazines (American Artist, The Artist, etc) and look at the many classes and workshops they list.

Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions. I am not too far from Laguna Beach. Not sure why my brain did not take me in that direction!

There are lots of galleries in Laguna Beach. You may also want to ask them where you can take classes, or if any of the artists they represent do any teaching.

Hope that helps!
