For your review is a recent small portrait I delivered Saturday. I wasn't sure how it would be recieved as on my first meeting with the couple the husband was very discouraging claiming they had no room for a portrait. The wife seemed to melt into the walls but by the end of the first meeting he agreed to a single head and shoulders of his wife.

The husband seemed to become more enthusiastic during the photography and color study sessions but I wasn' sure how he would react to the final painting.

They loved it and the husband was busy asking my advice on were to hang it.

The wife took about 30 of my cards for her tennis club.

The painting measures 16" x 20" and is oil on stretched linen.

Thanks, Chris,

I, too, am hopeful that this will lead to some commisssions. I have learned that nothing can take the place of putting paintings on walls with one exception. The reaction of a successful painting and a happy client.

John,,

I'm very impressed with the solidarity of the forms in this portrait. The color, too, is very convincing. It sounds like you did a great job of winning over the husband! That in itself is an accomplishment.

Thanks, Alex,

You always seem to pin point my goals. I very much wanted to feel as if I could reach out and wrap my hands around the subject. I hope that's what you meant by your comment of solidarity.

I wish I had a video of the husband going from wall to wall placing the painting for effect. He seemed like a kid with a new toy. It was very rewarding.
