Ruth

This is a painting done in the class I am taking, taught by our own Alex Tyng. It is a wonderful class and I love the ability to practice my painting from life. Oil on canvas, 11 x 14. I loved Ruth's soulful look. I wonder if she is mulling over her law school applications . . .

I didn't know Alex was teaching. Nice portrait, especially the color!

Hi, Molly! I'm so glad you posted this. Ruth has an interesting face, and there's a lot going on around her mouth and nose area that Molly caught very well.

I'm really enjoying teaching the class. There are eight wonderful people in it, each of whom brings a unique set of questions and challenges and goals. Molly's experience and confidence, and her ability to capture likeness, have been a source of inspiration and healthy competition. I wish you all could join the class, too!

Thank you Chris, Michele and Alex!

It has been really fun to attend this class and I was particularly happy to find a way to absorb Alex's experience and wisdom. The fact that the class is less than an hour from home is a big plus, as I've been extra busy this year! It is a fun group of people and a lovely location - (The Wayne Art Center.)
