Printing resource photos with grids
Hi, i'm working on a huge artwork about 1.5m size. I'm thinking of putting grids on my resource photo and have it printed out together with the grids, so that i can paint with grids. But i'm just not sure how to go about doing it on Photoshop. I hope you can share your experience here with me.
Thanks alot!

Hi Marcus!
Assuming you know the size of the grid squares you want, go to View and click "Show Rulers". This will pop up a ruler on the top and left of the image, and when your cursor is over the image you can see where you are ont he ruler. You can then use the line tool to make the grid lines.
Also, you can go to View and then click "Show Grid" but I do not know if this grid will print and I do not know how to control the size of the squares.

Marcus,
I've used the first method Lacey described. The great thing about it is you can make the lines any color you want so they stand out best and you can control the thickness of them.

Press down the shift key as you draw the line to make a straight horizontal or vertical line. (Don't know if it's the same key for Mac).

What Great Tips You Have!
Hi Lacey and Brenda,
Fantastic! I tried both your tips on the image, and it worked out really well! I guess we can all learn to make straight lines easier with Brenda's tips, for without it i'll probably be still struggling to draw them properly!
You guys certainly are wizards with Photoshop here!
