International Artists Book

It's not a portrait, but I wanted to share the news.

My painting "Rose Arbor", acrylic, 16x20 will be published in a new International Artists book entitled "How Did You Paint That? 100 Ways to Paint Flowers & Gardens."

Cynthia gave me permission to post this non-portrait.

I do not think newspaper articles, which I have had a bunch, count as being published - so this is a first for me.

Congratulations, and very lovely, Kim. I'd like to live in a place as beautifully depicted as this -- but I'd want someone else to do the garden work.

Actually, I'd like to have this as a second home . . . I'm kind of a fir/larch/pine western/northern mountaineer, but I can enjoy a rose [these look like arbor or prairie roses] almost as much as mountain ground-cover kinnekinnick. Of course, I'm exaggerating for effect. Kinnekinnick wins. Sounds as if I've given myself a new painting challenge. Thanks for the sideways peer "push" into another challenge.

Thanks Steven & Michele. Yes, it is a beautiful place, unfortunatly it's also below zero for 6 months of the year...b rrr. I painted that in NH where I am originally from. When it's dark and cold so much of the year you sure learn to appreciate the spring!

Kim, Congratulations!
That's a beautiful painting -- wouldn't have guessed it was so far north as New Hampshire!
You must be thrilled.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate it. It's unreal right now, I can't wait to see the book.

Terri, I just noticed you are from MA - when I hear anyone from home with the accents I get all homesick. I can spot a NH accent vs. MA or Maine...you want to call me and make me homesick?

Kim, this is such great news! You surely deserve such an honor. Your passion for your work and formidable work ethic (not to mention your talent) are paying off big time.
