My little Lexie

I am very excited because this is my first unveiling. The attached painting is a 16 X 20 oil portrait of my youngest daughter, Lexie, that I had posted in the WIP section. After coming back to it for a couple of days and nothing jumped out I decided to sign and date it. Thank you to all who made suggestions as I went along and thank you for looking.

That came out very nicely, Janel! Thanks for letting us see your progress. How does Lexie like it?

Thank you Leslie and you are welcome, posting the progress was fun and very helpful. Lexie loves it when I paint her. She comes home from school and the first thing she does is run downstairs to me in my studio to see the progress. I always get a big smile.

I have decided to use this painting as an example of my work to donate a portrait for a high end local charity auction. I want to paint professionally so I think this will be a good way to let the people in my community know someone in their town does this. I am nervous and excited at the same time. Nervous because I want to be successful at painting the best possible portrait for people, and excited because I love it.

Thanks Kimberly,

I really appreciate the compliment.

I must say I paid more attention to the interesting shape of her eyebrow with this one because you brought it to my attention during my last attempt at doing a portrait of her. It is a big part of capturing Lexie's personality so I thank you for that direction.
