Postcards
I am thinking of having Modern Postcard print up some cards of one of my images.
Has anyone here ever used Modern Postcard for printing? What were your results?
Has anyone done regular mailings (of postcards or brochures, for example) to their own mailing list or to a purchased list? Did that work for you?
Thanks!

I just had some business cards and post cards printed through this on-line company : http://www.simplebizcards.com/
I was able to design the post card myself on-line with their wonderful software. I downloaded my own image front and back. I got 500 for something close to $120. It was a good experience.

I've used Modern Postcard and found their product and service to be excellent. They'll give you a postcard with very high fidelity to what you gave them to work with, so make sure it's a very high quality photo!
I recently met a Forum member in person (the first time for me, and right here in Taipei to boot), whose privacy I'll respect by not mentioning his name, and he presented a postcard with his name and a reproduction of a very sophisticated and accomplished, low-light still life. I thought instantly that it appeared to be from Modern Postcard and sure enough, when I checked, there it was on the back: modernpostcard.com
I think you'd be very pleased with these cards.

Put a stamp on it
I used MP several years ago and was very pleased with their results. I had sent them a transparency. If you send digital files you should give them hard copy to match.
Good luck!

I too have had good results with Modern Postcard, although I almost always need to get a second color proof.
ALWAYS get the color proof.
The company is fast and very responsive, and you can actually call them up on the phone!
I'll show you some of the cards I've had made when I see you later this month.

What do you all do with your postcards?
I plan on handing them out like business cards and putting them on a table when I do shows and demos, etc.
I also have a small mailing list (200 names) I've put together of my own contacts. I plan on mailing a card with a new image on it to this group twice a year.
Anyone else doing mailings?

Michele, a ton of the paper companies make perforated card stock for printing postcards on your inkjet (like the business card forms). The paper is good quality and you can change your image as many times as you want. This works great for me, since I don't use these for mass mailings.

Hi Michele,
I get together with friends on a monthly basis and have been taking the cards with me. I usually set them next to my purse and whoever wants one just leaves me the cash. They also get used for my personal correspondence and I am happy to say that the cards have proven to be a wonderful marketing tool.
It keeps my friends informed about my latest work and they love it because the card stock is high quality with plenty of room inside for writing.
My cards are about 5
