Unintentional portraits

I paint images of costumed women which are partly based on observation. There is much invention in my work, yet all of the people who buy my paintings quickly develop a personal rapport with the women in the paintings. Everyone thinks of these paintings as specific portraits. I have, however, done very few "intentional" portraits.

I would like to specialize in painting portraits of costumed women. I especially like the idea of the sitter posing with her pet (in the formal style of Renaissance portraits). I have done some paintings in this vein.
Would anyone know if there are other artists who paint this type of portrait.

This is the same message which appears in my introduction, but this time I've included my website: http://www.ladyrenaissance.com[/URL]

Loretta, I think that would be considered "Figurative Painting", when you use a model as a sit-in for a character. Ken Hamilton is a painter who paints a woman/girl all the time in different poses. I would like to do that too, but don't yet have a model.
