exclamation I start 1st painting tomorrow

Please help, I'm starting my first ever attempt at a portrait in oils tomorrow. Does anyone have any last minute tips and advice for me. I don't know much about it, but I'm jumping in at the deep end. I'm starting small and basic. Thank you everyone. I'm new to these Forums, too. It's such a useful place. Thanks again, any help is greatly appreciated.

Put it off another day and spend some time reading through the many threads and dozens of useful posts -- especially the works submitted for critiques. There's no "cram course" available. Even the short course is 10 to 20 years long. There are additional sections for the serious artist.
