Concept for new Painting

Here's a study I have done just today for an idea I am putting together for a new painting.

I was hoping for some feedback on composition. Note: The drawing is simply a step beyond a simple gesture drawing and is only intended to demonstrate the idea or composition.

Also, I appologize for the quality as I haven't quite figured out how to get my scans to show their quality for the drawings I do. Help there would help too!

Here's the second; this one is simply an idea taken from the other to play with possible poses.

Also, I hate the quality of the scan, can someone suggest how to make this better because even though these are simple sketches they are much better quality than the scan is showing.

In order to critique on composition in any way that would be helpful, I would need to see how this figure relates to a background.

You really need to begin with a full scale value study showing lost and found edges...a good (but partial) line drawing isn't enough to work with.
