Rebirth!

I thought I should say hello since my user information says my last visit was in 2009!

It's great to still see familiar faces here, and everyone has grown so much!

Best to all,
beth

If just a few start posting again, we might be able to resurrect the Forum! Do you have any new portraits to post in Unveilings?

Debra Jones 09-12-2015 10:56 PM

Same here. I used to keep track of everyone, and myself actually, by the postings I put in SOG.
Hello Elisabeth!
This might be a great place for newbies to bring fresh life.
Thank you Cynthia

Back to the future

It has been a long time since I visited the forum and I am now wondering what has kept me away from this wonderful place. It is fun to see some familiar names and faces still posting. I am going to enjoy looking through what I have missed.

Well hello from me too! I'd also love to see this forum come alive again!

It just takes everyone posting and it could spread. Share some of your paintings in Unveilings.

I know this has more educational value than the time spent on Facebook. :)

I think this is a great forum, and I learned so much on it. I'd be willing to participate, even though my concentration isn't on portraiture at the moment.

Coming back to life!

Oh wow..it's not just me who is waking up from long long sleep! I don't know if I am weak to face the situation and succumbed to it or it might be called very natural reaction...but my elder son got dreadful news of esophageal stomach cancer last October 2014 and after that 4 months of his chemo radiation and surgery mentally drained out all of us in the family. In the month of February, 2015 he got the surgery done and complications arose after that major double surgeries, (complete esophagus removal + 2/3 of stomach removal and remaining stomach converted into food pipe connected to upper end of esophageal opening), his recovery was too painful to see. Fortunately his doctors released him to go back to work, he has gradually caught up with normal routine though he still is facing several types of pains that all specialty doctors say those pains are part of the recovery. But as a mother and living far away from him (he is in Atlanta and I am in Sierra Vista AZ) it is hard to make up mind set to do painting or any creative activity.
Well, all said and done, thanks for today receiving one thread response in my inbox, I visited this site and felt fresh air to breathe for my soul. I have a few paintings that I had done prior to October 31st 2014 that I will post here in near future. I will try to visit this forum as much as possible as I do feel it is so very rejuvenating.
Thanking Cynthia Daniel for keeping me on this forum even though I was absent for such a long time.
Wishing everybody well.

Baby Krishna painiting

Hello All, here are my work additions , I will send one by one as including 4-5 links did not go through.

My 3 year old grand daughter (at that time) asked me to make one for Little Krishna eating milk butter from the pot. She used to listen lots of stories of Indian Gods and Goddesses. Her favorite Gods were Lord Vishnu/Krishna and Shankar Bhagvan.
I had started this painting in 1998 or so and for some unknown reason I left it half done. So when my grand daughter asked me, I thought why not complete the one I had already started in the past. May be I left that half way as I was not satisfied with the painting to come out what I had intended...but surprisingly this time I finished the painting in just 4 days!

Shankar Bhagwan

I showed her on webcam that when we visit I am going to bring this to you, painting of Baby Krishna, she right away asked , whele is my Shankal bagwan's ? (she could not speak R , instead she pronounce L )
So I did 8" x 10" mini painting for her.
