"The Bold and the Beautiful," an exploration of the direct method of painting still lifes by Tim Tyler.

I finally received my copy today, and Tim, you have done a great job! I love seeing how others approach work, and your step-by-step description is excellent. If I couldn't have the cover, there is no one I would rather have it than you!

I noticed, however, that your paintings are brave, but mine are easy (cover notes). Whew, I was worried for a minute that painting is hard!

I finally got mine too. Thanks for your kind words. I thought your article was very deep 400 class stuff. I like it when work looks easy but know that this "look" of ease is often hard to get. I want people to feel no pain when they look at my paintings, see no sweat...as my ole favorite Chase quote: "a painting should look as if it were blown on in one puff."
