Trying to stay loose..

I am blown away by this...it really drew me in. Your placement and use of unusual colors really works with this. Usually, I am drawn to paintings that do not have this loose quality, but this really makes me wish I was more versatile. Bravo!

That's really kind of you, thanks.
I'm always trying to go looser!
I read some of your posts, hope you're progressing towards your goals in art.
Thanks again
Margaret

Margaret, There's so much character in his face! Interestingly, his eyes are hooded and you can barely see them, yet there is just as much "soul" in this portrait as in your portraits of people with extraordinarily brilliant eyes.

Thank you Alexandra, that's an interesting observation.
He was one of my favourite subjects, I think the rest of his face showed so much character; perhaps the eyes are secondary to the mood of this one.

Very nice work, as usual, Margaret.

Margaret Ferguson 05-30-2010 03:01 PM
