Study Piece

Limited palette study from the life. 20x16" oil on linen.
I'd like to incorporate this as a full-length figure into a landscape, which would be pretty much a reprise of Bouguereau's "La Tricoteuse"

Colors used: flake white, ivory black, terra rosa, lead-tin yellow.

Richard,
your palette seems to be effective and well balanced, and beside it being a very fine portrait, I like the interplay of warm and cold colors.

Very nice study, Richard! Are you planning to do the full composition in the sam limited palette, or will you use more colors?

Richard Bingham 10-11-2009 03:48 PM

Thank you for your kind remarks. I will have to expand the palette to get more of a range for landscape.
