A four hour sketch in oils

I have the hardest time getting a real chunk of time these days, but here is a study I did of my granddaughter from a photo I took this summer. It was so much fun to do. Think I'll go ahead and finish the had which is full of pink flowers!
Thanks for looking.
Happy painting...

Patty,
She is a charmer and you are lucky to have here around.

I like the firm curves and the simple color scheme, I would say that it's perfect as is, but the flowers on the hat may help to define a distance from the background.

You must take some more time off to paint.

Patty, I love what you are doing with oils these days. The low-contrast cool lighting is so well observed and well executed. You have done such a great job with her skin. The curves are well modeled without much value change. Beautiful!

Hi Patty,

Very impressive. Congratulations on your great progress. Keep it up!

Thanks, Marvin
I really had a breakthrough in your January workshop, can't explain it . . ..
