Figure Jumping into Water & Figure in Water
 

This are a couple of new ones. The are entitiled:

Figure Jumping into water and Figure in Water. The first is 24" x 36" and the second is about 22" x 27" (it is unstretched so not sure of the final size yet.

I am always impressed by your way of manipulating the paint so as to make it do exactly what you want it to do. In the first image you have captured the splash and movement of the "water" (the upward movement of bubbles when an object plunges into water) without actually painting little bubbles and the blurring of the face and arm add to this effect. It is a very interesting piece.
In the second one, when you say "unstretched", was the canvas fixed in some way onto something or did you just have it loose?
Both are very insightful pieces.

Thank-you Carlos. I am always pleased to get your comments. With the second one, I clipped the canvas to a board like a piece of paper - it was unfixed. I was finding stretched canvases too restrictive - I would want to change the shape or size without having to restretch, and also if I wanted to make the painting bigger I wanted to be able to do that seamlessly, so I would have the canvas rolled at the bottom to use if I needed it.
