I have been busy the last few weeks, there are a lot of commissions waiting to be done and I worked during the Christmas holidays. Not that I mind a lot, I find it such a privilege to be able to earn a living with what I love to do most and not have anybody telling me what to do :) .

These are two portraits I have just finished. The one with the two girls is about 27 x 35 inches and the other one is 19 x 27 inches.

You really know how to capture the feeling of sunlight, not to mention the firm, smooth, rosy cheeks of young children. These are both such appealing portraits. I especially like the second composition in which you use the striped sleeve/glove (?) and bent elbow as a strong diagonal on the left to balance the head to the right. Great idea!

This is beautiful work. A lesson in economy of stroke, position and "drawing with paint."
