I guess nobody pays much attention over here, but I was lucky enough to stumble on a 6 hour open studio and have found it a completely different way of painting. For most of the last decade I was doing 3 hour open studio sessions so my brain sort of went in a cycle based on that time frame. I still find it hard to pick up a brush on a painting after the three hours is up. A VERY long break tends to get me going, but I have a short attention span so I usually just do another piece in the middle.

This is my second piece and it is a 16x20" oil. Available light from right behind me. I was personally impressed by my own low chroma and shallow tones. I will say I did have a "Debra Jones piece" at three hours, but I was impressed at how the casual working style let me get into the environment more. I also found myself staring for long long periods of time before making a stroke.

There is a lot to be said for this slow stuff.

Very nice skin tones, Debra. It's hard to believe you got all this in six hours.

Hi Debra, I pay attention over here, I'm just not very good at posting. I agree with Julie; very nice skin tones. I like the highlights on the shoulder too. You're very fortunate to be where you can attend open studio. I'm jealous; the closest I've been able to find is a 2+ hour drive, one way, so I haven't done it.

Well done Deb, I can see you got into this one and good for you. I do think that the bicept is a bit out there even though he mite have had his hand under it. Just a bit to much to make it seem natural.
