Here is one other portrait, recently completed. The subject was a big benefactor to the local community. This was a posthumous portrait so I had to work with some pretty limited source photographs. The painting is 16 x 20 inches. I just find that some faces manage to convey so much about the person - this was one of them.

I am sorry to be getting to your post so late! I think you have done a wonderful job here - I know how very difficult it is to try to find any resources for posthumous paintings, but I am sure this means a great deal to the family.

Actually, I think we should start a section on Posthumous paintings as they present unique challenges and opportunites as well as a very gratifying experience for all!

This is very much alive and spirit-filled. Having just completed a posthumous portrait, I can appreciate the challenge and struggle that is embodied here.
