I have launched a new project and like to invite all you portrait artist, regardless of skill level, to join in the fun. This invitation is open to every artist and you do not have to be a member of the forum to participate.

TAKE PART IN "GIVE CREATIVITY WINGS TO FLY" PROJECT!

This little sketchbook will be send all over the world with the request that the recipient use one or two pages to create or write s.th art related. It can be a doodle, a drawing, collage, artsy quote, a technique write up,etc..

Every time the book is mailed back to me (ca. 2.94 US postage), I will scan the image and it will become part of an ongoing slide show that will feature everyone's contribution. If the project is successful and the sketchbook not lost, I will have it published as a book.

While the book is traveling through the world, participants will have their names and blog or website links added under 'Project Participants' and your contribution along with a write up will be featured on my blog. Feel free to invite your friends to join in this project.

To participate leave me a comment under the following post at World Market Portraits.

If you are not a blogger but like to be part of this, leave a comment and sign in as Anonymous. Then send your Email address to [email protected], so I have a way to contact you. I will be going down the list and will notify each participant when their turn is up to receive the book.

Last night around 11pm I scrambled to get a sketch done so the book can start its journey to Georgia.

Here is my entry in the rough...

While surfing the net I came across Kevin Cornell's sketchbook and thought it might be fun for some of you to browse through. Isn't his web page just the coolest?!

The sketchbook came back from Georgia and Debbie Overton, a collage artist has made the 2nd entry. I like her theme of

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF
Mary Ann, you are the 2nd person who has signed up so I will be sending the book shortly to Canada.

It's not too late to sign up and it would be wonderful if more members of this forum would participate. Just imagine holding a sketch by William Whitaker, or a insightful quote by Marvin Mattelson, a great sketch by Chris Saper, perhaps a famous doodle?! There are just too many of you to all mention, but I think you get the idea! ;)

Here is a little self-portrait sketch by Mary Ann for the project. Mary Ann was rather busy and had the notebook for a while. Then one day she got to work and quickly did a spontaneous sketch of herself.

Writers do this creativity exercise, where they have to jot down any word that comes to mind. Surrealist took this exercise a step further and while meeting as a group, asked each member to quickly sketch what they could think of. This was an exercise in spontaneity and a wonderful way to get creative juices flowing. So remember, if you like to participate, the idea is to have fun and shed all sorts of inhibitions you might have!

The added quote is also quiet wonderful!

Thank you Mary Ann for taking part in this. The sketchbook will bow be traveling to Georgia, USA.

I hope others will join in as well...
