Hello,
here is a 12" x16" charcoal on Fabriano paper.

It was done from a tiny drawing from life, and a photo that I took after she moved a bit, but it helped for certain details...

Marina,
If your intention is to pull on a grandmother's heartstring, you are successful! She is delicious, and your rendering is so beautiful. Very very sweet.

Wow.

With the risk of repeating my self, Marina, I'd say that this is simply beautiful, something to hold on.
Save it for the kid!

You're just a fabulous artist, that's all there is to it.

David, I couldn't agree with you more.

So lovely, Marina!

Thank you all !
It's so fascinating to watch a child sleeping, the quietness of the room, the funny positions, the emotions going through the face. You can stay hours watching... I was just hoping that this fascination would appear in the drawing also.

So lovely! She reminds me of my daughter when she was that age.

It definitely appears in the drawing--it looks like, if somebody were to wake her up at this moment, it would be quite a task!
Impeccable rendering (your usual level) and fantastic foreshortening of that arm! Beautiful!
Good luck also on your workshops. Water gilding is an age-old craft and it is nice to see it being passed down to others so it doesn

Thank you Enzie and Carlos !

Carlos, yes water gilding is the oldest way of gilding, the most difficult and which certainely gives the most beautiful results. I learned it with a man who was the third generation of gilders in the same family, and their tools, techniques and material hadn't change...
