You know the feeling you get when one of those self-addressed envelopes makes it back to you from that hopeful shot in the dark of possibly securing a space in a competition?!

Well , today I just got one of those expecting yet another rejection notice , just to be pleasantly surprised to learn that my Pakistani Girl has been selected as a finalists at the Richeson 75 Figure/ Portrait competition.

My other entry Blue Tribe will be featured in their full color limited edition book as well. Here are the works selected:

Enzie,

You've been improving by leaps and bounds these past few years. It was only a matter of time before you began to get some well deserved recognition for all your hard work. Congratulations!!

David

Thanks David! I feel that if any artist wants to gain the respect of his/her fellow artist , especially here at the forum, among so many talented and hard working individuals, there is no time for slacking and diddle daddling. The bar of what is considered good portraiture is set very high and it is a constant force of will to push ahead to out do oneself.

I am just happy to see, that in the eyes of my fellow comrades here, I seem to be working my way upwards rather than sliding down! ;)
