Camilla, oil on canvas, 45 x 35 cm

I's been a while since I have done something, it feels good to use some oil paint again.
It was really hard to get started, I did the preliminary drawing in charcoal a week ago and then I could not go on further, but to night I decided to make it or ruin it.

Dear Allan,

This painting is lovely, fresh and exciting. I think you took it exactly far enough.

This is lovely, Alan - it has such soft edges and wonderful brushwork.

So do I.

Allan, this is beautiful! It shows a new and different side of Camilla than what we are used to seeing, and I enjoy seeing it very much. It gives me a clear idea of what she is like to talk to or spend time with. You must feel great getting back into oil painting.

Lovely work, Allan. I really like the silvery tones you have in the flesh on the face. I also really like the brushwork in the background and the hair - so free, relaxed and sure. Great painting!

Allan,

I understand you oh so well.
It usually is in that kind of situation that you can make the most beautiful paintings, because you are not afraid anymore of doing something wrong. You just do it.

I should take example on you and go upstairs and paint that portrait I am not motivated at painting at all.

I like your painting a lot. That look directly speaks to the viewer. That's impressive. Good job ;-)

Allan,

Long time no see...so nice to see your work again. This piece has your wonderful brushwork trademark. So fresh and spontaneous, like you get everything on the first try. Very nice painting!

P.S.

As I look at it again, I notice the resemblance to your lovely wife Aud.

Allan, so good to see your work again. Carlost took the words right out of my mouth regarding the resemblance. ? This is right along side your other portraits and if I may say so one of your best works. I, as you, have moments where I just cannot lift that brush up. It is like the hardest thing. Why is that?

Good to see you working my friend
