Opinion needed
 

Advice, comments, guidance, critique would be appreciated. This subject seem to have a certain amount of potential. All taken with a Nikon D70 on auto. What do you think?

As far as I am concerned, I just LOVE the first photograph.
I so wish I could paint it myself!!!

I would shoot a lot more pictures. The model is exotic and lovely. Yes she has great potential. However, she seems a little stiff in these photos. After 400 or 500 pictures she will loosen up and start to have some fun. Her costume is delightful. Take some full body shots. Have her move, dance or constantly change poses. Catch her doing something wonderful. She won't even know that she is doing it. One picture out of a thousand might get it. If you can step back from the model even further if you can. It will minimize distortion.

I also recommend using the white balance on your d70 to get better color adjustment. It is easy to do. Check your Nikon manual or look at the threads on the forum dealing with white balance.

I usually shoot for about two hours before the model relaxes. Personally I don't like the red dress because it will make her look pale. She needs darker lipstick for that dress. I would try a few different outfits. The first two shots are ok if you can't get her back again. In my humble opinion.

I love the first photo. If you have the chance, you can take more, but I think you can work with the information you have. Your major challenge is the composition, how to deal with the neckline (not enough), whether to vignette, and all the negative spaces. It will be up to you to figure out how to commit to a color harmony that can work. You can't rely on your photo to tell you:)

I'm with Chris....if you don't experiment more, the first one is far more relaxed looking. Factor in all of Chris's other caveats.

I agree with the first picture. Maybe you can steal some information from the other 2 so that all or most of the lei around her neck shows and more of her dress. You will just have to deal with cropping her bare arms creatively.
