Twins - A Commission

2 Attachment(s)
Sent out these pieces today. Four year old twins, the poses speak volumes about their different personalities. We looked at over 300 pictures to arrive at these poses, three visits with the girls. The third time was a charm, they were now comfortable with me and we were in their back yard where they played with me in their "magical woods" and played in the pool. Unfortunately, both of them had very wet hair with these shots. I did my best to pull dry hair from other photos. I think I did dozens of sketches and three drawings of each before I was happy with the end results. On to the next commission, a sixteen year old girl and her dog.
Thanks for looking
Patty

These are just beautiful! The line so sensitive and the tonal elements just right. I'm sure they're all thrilled and these will be family treasures.

Wow, Patty! You have done a wonderful job with these! I love the different personalities, and that line quality is so sensitive and beautiful...

Patty, these are wonderful. I love the variety of lines. There is certainly no question about their personalities!

Dear Pat,

Beautiful job!! You have not only completed lovely portraits but you have done them is such a way that gives each twin individuality.

Lovely and lively.
The parents must be thrilled!

You certainly are thriving after your move.

Thank you all, for your compliments!

It means much to me to receive the feedback. I wonder, does an artist ever stop worrying over the work she does? Will I always think, UGH, before "not bad" (it takes me some days to sit and view a finished piece before I am happy with it). So, it helps to get your feedback.

My year away and subsequent move back to my studio and life in Cleveland were the best moves I could have made for my artist self. I truly feel that living in Atlanta for a year enabled me to find my own definition of self . . . that is, that I am an artist first and whatever I do to supplement my income second.

I love the way I have quilted together a life, a way of earning $$$ that enables me to draw and paint. Maybe I can keep this up, I hope so!

Happy Labor Day!

You have a strong calling and will be very successful as an artist. Just hang in there! These twins are superb and I am sure there will be more commissions following.
