A lovely model
 

Hi folks .. this is my first attempt at an oil portrait from life.. I've only ever done life portraits in pastel before.. This was such a frustrating challenge, trying to decide what colour I was looking at ..then try to mix it.. Pastel is a lot easier, IMHO. ;)
Looking at the portrait now I see that some of the features are not quite in the correct places, and the shadow areas on the face are a little muddy.
I realise though that to succeed as a portraitist an artist has to be able to offer oil as well as other mediums.. So I'll keep working at it..
