This was painted for an illustration class, a model was hired then we had to take the reference photos from the shoot and create an illustration in the style of a famous artist. I chose Degas. The painting has been cropped by my scanner it's slightly larger than seen here.

Critiques are welcome

Dan I think she has merits on her own points (haha, pun intended!) but what aspects of Degas were you endeavoring to use?

Well Lisa I was trying to portray the impressionistic aspects of Degas work I really enjoy the way he used color and light in his paintings, and also his way of skewing perspective is another thing I like in his work.

This painting was based on a painting he did of a singer on a stage I can't recall the title.

I've included some other details.
