Women in Art...
I don't know if this belongs here in the cafe', or in "Artists of the Past," but check out this YouTube link...it's fantastic! Five hundred years of women as portrait subjects in just under three minutes.

I love this video! It is so well composed. Tom, I was just about to start a "new" topic here , when I saw you already brought this YouTube link to our attention. Evidently it is extremely popular.
I need to find a good morph program for my Mac. I used to do this kind of image morph transformation all the time on my old PC! Garth |
My college roommate just sent this to me as well, along with a somewhat critical art critic's newpsper article - I think from the San Francisco paper.
I found myself smiling throughout the whole video, and only wish I had a list of all the paintings - many I have never seen, and would like to find out more. I particularly loved the impact of the shifting expressions, which I found registered with me much more immediately than the changing features, colors and backgrounds. Thanks Tom! |
Great stuff -- thanks for posting it, Tom!

Captivating!
Thank you Tom for sharing it. I totally agree with you Chris. There are some of them that I had never seen and I wish I knew where to find these paintings to have a better look at them... Karine |
Tom my sister just sent me "Women in Art" today, it is a lovely job isn't it!
Here is another one I found to be really interesting: http://fcmx.net/vec/get.swf?i=003702  Beth |
