Mattelson Portraits in Exhibition
2 Attachment(s)
I have eight original oil paintings hanging in the Long Island Professional Artists Showcase. The show, entitled "SEVEN (painters) & SEVEN (sculptors)", runs from March 5 through April 4 at the beautiful Hutchins Gallery in the Schwartz Library at C.W. Post College, L.I.U., Northern Blvd., Brookville, NY. The Gallery hours are 2:00 - 5:00 pm, Tuesday through Saturday.
I have included two commissioned portraits and six of the paintings I do exclusively from life in my classes and workshops. The opening reception is on Saturday, March 10th from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. If you're in the neighborhood, stop on by and say hello. |
Wish I could see them, Marvin! I got a little taste from the workshop, and would love to see more.

Dear Marvin,
What a nice venue and great display of your work. I wish I could be there as well to view your wonderful work and wish you a great turn out. |
Marvin,
They look beautiful--and beautifully arranged, too. I wish I could get away a little more easily right now, and go to the opening. I wish you the very best. Congratulations on being selected as one of The Seven! Alex |
Excellent presentation, Marvin.

Congratulations Marvin. Looks like a fantastic venue. Wish I could be there.

Awesome Marvin!
Looks great, indeed.
Can I be so bold as to plug in the fact that Marvin wil be in Atlanta in May do do a different workshop than his usual. Portrait Drawing for Portrait Painters (six days) and two day workshop on digital photography for portrait artists. VERY Cool!!! |
Thanks for the good wishes!
Julie, Enzie, Alex, David, Cynthia and Patty,
Thanks for the kind sentiments. It would be great if you could all be there. Maybe you could at swing a group deal with Jet (Ultramarine) Blue Airways. Alternately, Patty and Julie you could both drive up from Atlanta. It would probably take less time to drive to Long Island than to get to Binders in rush hour traffic! The invitation for me to be in this show came about quite serendipitously, so I'm just going with the flow. I rarely participate in shows, just too busy teaching and painting, but it was strangely satisfying to frame these paintings and then see them in a gallery setting. The artist who organized the whole thing, a sculptor by the name of Dan Brown, said the school is already wanting us back next year. I'm anxious to see what kind of turnout we'll get. Should be fun. If anyone from the forum does stop by, please say hello. |
Congratulations, Marvin! Looks great. I might actually be in the neighborhood at some point during the length of this show, and if I am I'll check it out.
