Thanks for posting this lovely piece Sharon. I do like the earthy tones used on this - very tastefully done and the skin looks so fleshy.
Most of the time, I prefer monocolor, but there are certainly exceptions such as this example.

The ancient Greeks painted their sculptures. Had the colors never washed out over the centuries, color may not seem so foreign to us. I do agree that my tastes are also for monocolor, particlarly white marble.
