Name that color!
Paint names seem to only be a general indication of the color. And that drives me nuts....as they vary so much from brand to brand.
I seldon buy a color I'm unfamiliar with unless I can unscrew the cap and look at it. I find that manufacturer's printed color charts are seldom accurate either. I use a very limited palette, but can't resist trying new paints. I have made some expensive mistakes Thank heavens the paint manufacturers don't use color names like the clothing catalogs do. However I suspect that it is only a matter of time until I add; Duck Yellow, Baby Toe Pink, Bubble Gum Blue, Early Sage, and Mushroom, to my palette :). It is bad enough to have "Flesh" which never, ever, matches anyone's skin tone...(just ask Chris Saper who recently authored the "bible" on how to paint skin tones). |
