You're going to be spending all your time in the Winner's Circle if you keep producing work like this, Linda. It's gorgeous.
I can hardly look away from the girl who is looking toward the viewer. There is a lot of understated intensity in that not-quite-casual regard of the witness who has happened onto this scene. I'll be looking for this in a nearby show. |
Thanks Steven
Boy that was so nice of you to say Steven. This year has taught me that I have a quirky style that I enjoy doing.I admire and envy talent of many here and elsewhere, but finally see some elements that will always be a parts of my style.
Becoming an artist is like going through a lonnnnng 12 step program! |
Linda, I'm so glad you have become comfortable with your style and that others appreciate it, too. I can see why. I admire the way you have grouped this family within the symmetry of the porch. It has a formal structure yet the feeling is totally informal, as if you had happened upon them hanging out there. Can you post some close-ups?
Incidentally, the way you've painted that color where the clapboards go into shadow under the porch roof is SO right-on! I've seen that a million times in Maine and you really got it. Alex |
Yes, I'd love to see more closeups too!
|
I"m having my web designer load them onto my website . When that happens I update the thread. That will provide the best view of close ups of everything.
