With this painting, I worked with the mom more carefully than I have in the past to refine the composition, and to be very precise about the children's expressions. It paid off, because the painting went very smoothly, and the family is very happy with it, including the 15 year old son!

Andrea that was a tough composition.

Congratulations on the family loving it, there is nothing better!

Hi Andrea!

I love this painting. The composition is so natural and it really shows the relationship between brother and sister. I also like the fact that their expressions are natural and pleasant. The colors--reds, blues, and greens--are repeated throughout in a balanced way. So are the shapes--criss-crosses, flowers and leaves--they are a delight to the eye without steaking the focus away from the children. It's a real pleasure to look at for a long time.

hey, thanks Alex, I appreciate your observations. You picked up on exactly the things I was thinking about when I was putting this together.
