Thank you, Chris, for this timely and explicit article. It should serve as a mantra for all of us who are embarking on this sacred career. I plan to continue to reread your words often to remind myself of all those important points. Remembering each of them and putting them into practice offers the shortest distance between two points. It's very difficult to undo a first impression if not impossible.

Indeed I agree with Carol that it is a timely article - sort of, as i lost a negotiation for a portrait deal just a day before reading your article. But it does shed more light on what i need to do to clinch more successful deals in future! Kudos!
