Computer History
Does anyone know how to get rid of those pesky pull downs that appear - telling what youve searched for before....say on Yahoo or MSN?
I had some visitors to my computer recently, and when I start to type in a search with an M - there are some words that appear (previous searches) that I'd rather not have there. I've already cleared the History, cookies and temp internet files and they are still there. |
I don't know about Yahoo or MSN (I would think it's a browser thing, not a homepage thing) but if you're using Internet Explorer, you would go to Tools>Internet Options>Content>Auto Complete, and uncheck the "web addresses" box. Other browsers probably have similar options under their Tools menu.

Sorry, my fix is for web addresses, not searches. I'm sorry.

Kim, I can't find a preference for that in Yahoo. This may sound basic but have you closed your browser after clearing cookies and history and then re-opened it? Sorry i couldn't be of more help.

Here's for IE: In your web browser, go to Tools, Internet Options, then to the Content Tab, click the Auto Complete button, uncheck forms and hit the Clear Forms button.
In Mozilla, go to Tools, Options, clear saved form info and uncheck the "Save information..." box. Hope this helps! (Now, though, I am thinking of things that begin with M! LOL!) |
Thank you ladies.
That one did the trick Lacey. And Im not telling what the M word was. :o |
