Hi
As I've noticed here... W.Bouguereou fascinate not only me.. I did a "copy" too. This was made in traditional manner: underpainting plus glazing. 50*60 cm big. Original is 66*100 cm. Face: I know there is some parts are skewed, but it is hard to change after glazing without destroying the entire effect of it. So I decided not to correct this. Thanks for viewing! cheers :) |
Upps, the original painting is here:

This seems to have been a terrific exercise for you, Leslie. Your work has improved tremendously.

Thanks Michele
I like copy Old Masters.(or not so old) You are right, I had learned a lot. Particularly about edge handling and how little color needed to make a little more alive. (well to observe the finished against the underpainting.) Even if I know and see: it is far away from any professional work, nevertheless, I was happy with this skin. But I am still blue about my own blindness. (the face.. :( ) Maybe I want to try over again, after one year of practice. ciao. PS: If I don't want mud, it is still there. If I need it : hard to get right... her soiled garb.. :) |
