I have been planning for my photo shoot today for several weeks now. I did several thumbnail sketches and a couple color studies as well. All during the planning stages I was thinking of using the vertical striped background. Then this morning, I was worried about it being too dark so I ran to the fabric store and bought the lighter backdrop.

I used a cool daylight bulb for a single light source and a white board to lighten the shadows.

I like both of these references and am still deciding which one to use. The head and shoulders one is a definite choice but the 3/4 pose will be first.

What do you think??

Thanks,
Julie

I like the first one the best (though the white scarf seemed to me at first to be a roll of gauze bandage, then it looked a bit like toilet paper -- sorry!)

I think the patterned background (as opposed to the stripes), especially with the patterend scarf, is too busy and takes away from the model. Just my opinion.

Very nice lighting!
