Unfortunately, this pose started to give our model back problems, so it had to be changed. This was as far as I was able to take it.

This is lovely. That's a nice quality of light you have captured. I love your descriptive use of directional lines in the shadows. Is this done in graphite? I have just looked around this Forum to see if I could find more examples of your work, but have only found a couple from several years back.

This is very nice. How long was the pose? I am in life drawing and the longest pose is only 25 minutes. I barely get a contour done in that time!

Very nice job with the lighting. Are the highlights erased?

A couple of years back I was a lowly 18 year old, so I'm not too happy with what I posted earlier:D . (And I still have a long way to go before I will be happy I suppose) I haven't really posted much since because I went and lived in Russia for two years and I didn't have access to this site, and now that I'm back I'm pleasantly surprised to see how the forum has grown. It's sad to see that there has been some squabbles though.
This was drawn with a hard willow charcoal sharpened with sandpaper. It was done over several sessions. The highlights are just the white of the paper that I left. I did use a gum eraser rolled to a point to soften some of the edges.

I'm currently painting this same model in a new pose in grisaille. It's really sad because the model just found out she has cancer.

Very nice work Jessee, you should be proud of your progress. Did you study in Russia?

I didn't go to Russia to study, but it did have a profound influence on me. I saw some wonderful work that came out of the Repin Academy.
