Girl at the Window

Vermeer was on my mind at least as far as the window when I did this work. It's 24X18" oil on linen.

Tim,
beautiful painting, beautiful light and beautiful woman. The painter in me is glad that she is not naked. :bewildere Allan |
Tim, I love the way you handled the light coming through that billowy fabric. Just beautiful. Interesting effect, too, the edges lost to the light... very different from edges lost to shadow. It feels as if the light is just going to keep getting brighter and she's just going to disappear into it.

Tim,
I too love the light shining through the fabric. That was beaurifully executed. I am somewhat troubled by the band of reflected light that apears on the models face. It keeps pulling my eye there and doesn't seem to have the modeling that I see in your other work. Do you have a close up of the face and a reference photo of same? It would be instructive to compare. Other than that ...Wow! |
